It's not where I want us to stand. A club with an income in the top 20 in the world should not be looking at struggling by. If our fat cunt of an owner showed a bit of ambition and gave us just £20 million for transfers (another promise that he bullshitted about) then I reckon it would guarentee safety pretty much. Unfortunately, the fat knacker appears to want to gamble with our future, and if we go down again I don't think it would be as easy to come straight back up.

I don't think you'll go down again tbh. Think you'll end up round the 15th position, which, for a club coming out of the Championship, is respectable.

Do you think you'll be signing anyone?

Hughton has already said we will be, "in the next few weeks", but until then my criticism stays with Ashley. Financial stability is all well and good, but we need in invest to stop in the Prem forst. If we go down it would cost a damn sight more than the £20 million or so it would take to keep us up.

Well, first pre-season game out of the way. Carlisle 0-3 Newcastle. Steady away, clean sheet, win, what more can you ask for.
